Clinic will review basic mechanics and fundamentals of the game, focusing on throwing, catching, fielding, hitting and base running. Spring Training is great for players of all levels as a way to get ready for the upcoming season. Location: Mills Park Instructor: Town of Cary Softball Instructors Fees: $10 (1 class) • AGE 8–10 83473 Sun Mar 1 1–3p.m. • AGE 13–17 83474 Sun Mar 1 3:30–5:30 p.m. MARK YOUR CALENDAR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE REGISTRATION • April 6-19 EZ Reg Web, Walk-in & Mail-in All Cary residents • April 20-26 EZ Reg Web or Walk-in All Cary residents All Non-residents TEEN VOLLEYBALL Volleyball League and Classes Girls Volleyball League (age 11–16) Volleyball leagues for girls age 11-13 and 14-16 will play on Mon, Wed and/or Thu nights (usually 1-2 nights per week) beginning May 18. The season will last until mid- to late July. Only individuals who have participated in other volleyball leagues or teams, or have participated in Town of Cary Volleyball skills classes should register for this league. Those without experience in organized leagues should consider the Volleyball Skills Classes beginning in April. Registration is for individuals only. Teams will be formed during team placements the week of May 18. Age determined as of Sep 1, 2015. Location: Bond Park Community Center (primarily); Green Hope Elementary School (occasionally) Fees: $50 (R) $75 (N) 83549 Age 11–13 83550 Age 14–16 Youth Volleyball Skills Class (age 9–12) This class is designed for those new to the game of volleyball or with less experience. The goals are to learn and develop the basic skills and techniques involved in playing volleyball. The focus will be on fundamentals at each participant's individual level of skill and experience, applied to game situations. Location: Bond Park Community Center Fees: $84(R) $109(N) (8 classes) 83652 Tue,Thu Apr 21–May 14 5:45–7:15 p.m. 83653 Mon,Thu Jun 1–25 5:45–7:15 p.m. Teen Volleyball Skills Class (age 13–16) Participants advance their individual skills such as serving, passing, setting and hitting and learn the rotations, rules and offensive strategies of the game. Instruction is modified for the participant's level of play and skills are applied to game situations. This class is excellent preparation for the Cary youth league played in June and July.
