Some of our Youth Ceramic Arts courses require a prerequisite, which is generally noted at the end of a course description. The prerequisite requirement is placed on those courses in which the student must have completed the basic or beginning course to participate. A prerequisite makes certain that all participants in the advanced or intermediate level courses have the minimum skill level needed to participate to the fullest in the course. It also eliminates the need for the instructor to re-teach the basics. Courses filling most of the prerequisites in Youth Ceramic Arts must have been taken at Cary Arts Center. They are as follows: Wheel Watchers, Teen Pottery Exploration, Kids at the Wheel. Those who have taken the Kids at the Wheel II with Raku may sign-up for the Raku Firing with parental permission.
