ARTS 54 REGISTER ONLINE: classweb.townofcary.org PART TWO LONG SESSION CLASSES Long session classes culminate in a showcase performance at Cary Arts Center. Fall showcase is Wednesday, November 18, 7:30 p.m., with a brief rehearsal at 6 p.m. prior to performance. Ballet I (age K5–7) Students learn proper body alignment, ballet terminology, and technique through traditional ballet barre work, floor exercises, and choreography in this beginner level class. They will learn discipline through traditional ballet techniques. This is definitely a fun and creative introduction to ballet training! Wear a leotard and ballet shoes (tights optional). Location: Bond Park Community Center Instructor: Maggie Witter Fees: $42(R) $55(N) (4 classes) 88374 Sat Oct 31–Nov 21 1–1:45 p.m. Jazz Technique/ Lyrical Skills (age 11–17) In this upbeat and energetic class with technical fill stretches and warm-ups, students work on turns, leaps, travel steps, and short dance routines with control and procession. Lyrical is based on sincere emotion, and a thoughtful use of the music with accents and body alignment. All levels welcome!
