Mills School Park 425 Mills Park Drive, 27519 With a focus on athletic fields, Mills Park School Park is located on the campuses of Mills Park Middle and Elementary schools in West Cary. It is a collaborative effort between the Wake County School System and the Town of Cary. Hours: Limited to 6 p.m. -10 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday & Sunday Features: 2 multi-purpose fields (one lighted), lighted football/ track stadium field, lighted youth softball field, picnic shelter with restrooms, and a lighted basketball slab. 15. North Cary Park 1100 Norwell Blvd, 27513 One of the most favorite parks in town, North Cary Park features a multitude of activities including a unique climbing boulder, sand volleyball courts, athletic fields and courts, and of course, a playground for youth. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: 1 soccer field, 2 basketball slabs, 4 sand volleyball courts, playground, picnic shelter, picnic tables, restrooms, climbing boulders, and trails. 16. R.S. Dunham Park 519 Walnut Street, 27511 Whether enjoying a competitive game of tennis, or watching the kids slide, whirl, and dig, Dunham Park is fun for everyone. "Dad" Park, as it is often called, is named after a former teacher, R.S. Dunham, who taught at Cary High School for 40 years. Hours: Sunrise to sunset; in lighted areas where visitors are participating in an approved activity, hours are extended until 30 minutes after the completion of the activity or 10 p.m. Features: 5 tennis courts (lighted), 2 basketball slabs, playground, picnic tables and restrooms. 16. Robert V. Godbold Park 2050 N.W. Maynard Road, 27513 Godbold Park is like three parks in one! It features tennis courts, basketball courts, a playground, and trails. It's also home to Cary's Dog Park for our four-legged, furry friends and Sk8-Cary for bike and skate enthusiasts! Lions Park 815 Tanglewood Drive, 27511 Lions Park is home to many youth and athletic leagues, including baseball and softball. Catch a game on the bleachers and root for your favorite athlete! MacDonald Woods Park 1601 Seabrook Avenue, 27511 Whether you are in the mood for a little basketball, or just want a nice shaded play to open play, MacDonald Woods Park fits the bill. The Hinshaw Greenway bisects the eastern side of the park and connects to the US Hwy 1/64 pedestrian bridge that leading to Kids Together Playground at Marla Dorrel Park. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: Trail access to Hinshaw Greenway, 1 basketball slab, 1 open play field, playground, and picnic tables. 12. Marla Dorrel Park 111 Thurston Drive, 27518 Home of the Kid's Together Playground, Marla Dorrel Park isn't your typical suburban park. Unique elements include a dragon climbing structure (named KATAL), progressive design elements and landscaping, and a play area where kids of all physical and mental ability can enjoy fully-integrated play in a multi-sensory environment that challenges both muscles and minds. The park connects to a pedestrian overpass linking it to MacDonald Woods. The trail crosses stream that runs adjacent to the park and a small wetland can be found close by. Hours: Sunrise to sunset Features: 1 basketball slab, 1 multi-use slab, playground, picnic shelter, picnic tables, and restrooms. 13. Middle Creek School Park 151 Middle Creek Park Avenue, 27539 Explore 105 beautiful acres featuring tennis courts, athletic fields, a disc golf course, scenic trails, and a picnic shelter. Middle Creek Park is fun for a family outing to enjoy the playground and open lawn. Middle Creek School Park, adjacent to Middle Creek High School, is the result of a collaborative effort between the Town of Cary and the Wake County Public School System. Hours: Sunrise to sunset; in lighted areas where visitors are participating in an approved extended use activity, hours are extended until 30 minutes after the completion of the activity. Features: Athletic complex with 4 lighted baseball/softball fields with restrooms, 2 multi-purpose fields (lighted) with restrooms, 18 hole disc golf course, 2 basketball courts, 8 tennis courts (lighted) with restrooms, picnic shelter, play area with adjacent open lawn area, 0.50 miles of paved trail around softball fields, and 0.33 miles of paved trail around multi-purpose fields.
