We will use a pattern to make a reversible patchwork sling bag with a strap that ties at the top. Supplies will be provided. In this class, we will explore different ways to print, paint, and dye fabric to create one-of-a-kind textiles. Once our fabrics are complete, we will sew a project to take home. In this class, we'll practice the truly handy skill of sewing on buttons while using a colorful assortment to ornament our projects. Starting with embroidery thread and jumbo buttons, we'll work our way toward becoming button experts! Successful completion of one of our Beginning Sewing classes qualifies students to purchase a Sewing/Textiles Membership Pass to access the studio and use the the equipment to work on individual projects. Open Studio for youths is scheduled on Monday evenings from 4:30–6:30 p.m. Please note the studio is not available on some Monday evenings due to other programming.
