Emphasis on capturing sunlight, creating deep shadows, composition, aerial perspective and how it affects color and value, as well as mixing colors with the colors found in nature. Students will learn the principles and fundamentals of what makes a landscape painting a beautiful work of art and how to apply these principles to their own painting style. Select from patterns provided by the instructor—primarily traditional Russian designs and holiday themes—or bring your own from which to paint.
