Water Main Breaks: Repair Operations In a span of two days, two water main breaks occurred along Waldo Rood Blvd. The first was a 30" water main break; the second was a 36" line. The total cost for repaving the road after both breaks was approximately $328,000. During the repairs, our staff was able to keep water flowing to the homes and businesses in the surrounding neighborhoods. Regional Water System Transfers In contrast with 2016, the Town conducted a number of water transfers both into and out of the water system. The water transfers by location and month are summarized in the table. Also included in the summary is the test of the Trinity Road Pump Station connection with Raleigh in early April as it was a significant transfer. For the first quarter of 2017, water demand averaged 16.2 million gallons per day (MGD), which was 0.5 MGD more than the same period in 2016.
