Opiate/Overdose Response in Cary
Cary Police, Fire and Wake County EMS are working jointly on the ever increasing opiate/overdose responses.
Within a 10-day period, for example, Cary responded to six calls.
As part of our effort to improve our response to overdoses, both Cary Fire and EMS will alert Police if they
encounter a suspected overdose. And Fire and Police will continue to explore the use of shared talk groups
between responding units on overdose calls to improve communication and lessen possible delays.
