Spruce & Adopt a Spot Programs The Town hosted 141 projects in this quarter that included 715 volunteers that worked a collective 1,245 hours, saving the Town $28,877. Together, we removed 5,592 pounds of litter and planted 42 trees and plants. These projects occurred in streams, trails, school campuses, parks, and other public spaces around Town. The Town currently has 59 adopted spots, which increased from 48 adopted spots in the first quarter of 2015. Compost Giveaway Workshops From March 10-12, the Town hosted seven compost workshops, attended by 315 citizens and gave away 945 bags of compost. The workshops were and included education and training regarding waste reduction, organic gardening, native plants, and general environmental tips for greener living in the Town of Cary. INFRASTRUCTURE Revenues only include passenger fare revenues collected on the bus and at the Town Hall Finance Window point of sale for local monthly passes (regular and reduced fares). This does not include Federal, State or Local forms of revenue that offset total costs of the Town's Transit System.
