Total Tonnage Recycled Total Yard Waste Tonnage Water demand for the quarter averaged approximately 16.6 million gallons per day, which was 0.4 million gallons per day higher than the same period in 2014. For the calendar year 2015, average day water demand was 18.1 million gallons per day. This was an increase of 0.9 million gallons per day from demand in 2014. Since 2013, the average day demand has increased at a consistent rate. On September 23, 2015 the peak day demand was 29.1 million gallons, which represents the all- time highest daily water demand for the Cary/Apex system. The Town of Cary placed second in the Annual Best Tasting Water Contest at the N.C. AWWA-WEA State Conference in Raleigh in November. A total of 26 samples were submitted for the contest from water systems across the state. This marks the seventh time since 2003 that water produced at the Cary/Apex Water Treatment Facility has placed first or second in the annual competition. DID YOU KNOW?
