Cary Tennis Park Adult participants in the Polar Doubles Tournament in February Record number of teams for USTA Spring Leagues, a 20% increase from 2014. Players, aged 8-18, participated in the Cary Winter Championships in March. Tennis programs continued to grow despite significant program cancellations during February due to ice/snow storms and cold weather. Many courts were unplayable for two weeks, which caused an estimated $10,000-$15,000 loss of potential revenue. Participants, ages 11-14, for the STA Level 1A Championships 160 171 256 130 Winter Wonderland Bond Park Over 900 participants came out to Bond Park to enjoy a planned snow event, which generated $17,365 in revenue for the Town. For the first time, sledding tubes were provided to participants resulting in a fun and safe tubing event. Participation for this year's two dances was just over 400 participants. This year, the events included a custom picture frame giveaway and fun photo booth for participants to share photos. Event surveys indicated 100% would come back in 2016! Kite Festival in Bond Park An estimated 1,200 people attended the festival, including 200 participants for the Kite Flying Contest. Awards were given in a variety of categories including best crash and quickest take-off. In addition, food trucks made an appearance! Easter Egg Hunt & Eggstravaganza Approximately 4,000 people participated in hunts throughout the day. A new layout was implemented for Easter activities at the Boathouse, which included food trucks, arts & crafts and a play space. The Eggstravaganza, a hunt for persons with special needs, was attended by approximately 200 people. This included roving magic and a short dance show. Feb 2015 DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE
