This chart depicts participation rates since the F.O.G. pilot program began in
November 2008. The program was launched full-time in July 2009. Participation has
increased thanks in part to the joint education efforts led by Cary It Green Facebook
page, the Block Leader Program, and promotion at civic events.
Cary's three wastewater
treatment facilities treated a
combined average daily total
of 15.17 MGD (million gallons
per day) for the third quarter.
Wastewater treatment
facilities use biological
nutrient removal combined
with physical removal
processes to treat wastewater
to high standards of water
quality before return to the
natural environment.
Cary's wastewater treatment processes provide exceptional
treatment of wastewater, surpassing established performance
standards and regulatory requirements.
K-9 Unit Activity
During the third quarter, the K-9
team contacted 2,090 citizens
through 17 Crime Prevention and
Community presentations.
Additionally, the K-9 team seized
4 grams of marijuana and 2 items
of drug paraphernalia. These
efforts resulted in 10 felony and
31 misdemeanor charges being
filed.
