Location: Classroom 302 Instructor: Marcelle Hooks PAINTING SEASCAPES & WATER This class will cover painting individual elements of the seascapes and water. Students will learn to mass in the large elements to begin and then apply the final layer of color. Techniques to make waves and movement in the water and color mixing will be stressed, including knowing which brushes to use to get the effect you need. This class is for the beginner to advanced levels, and for acrylic or water mixable oils. Fees: $79(R) $103(N) (8 classes) 116455 Wed Sep 12–Nov 7 1–3:30 p.m. (no class 10/24) CLASSICAL PAINTING TECHNIQUES This is a comprehensive class with an academic approach anyone can learn where you can paint a portrait, a figure, an animal, or floral using the classical techniques of under painting and glazing, plus much more. This class will teach you everything you need to know from drawing to mixing under painting and color palettes. If you choose to paint a portrait, first time students will copy an old master painting from photos furnished by the Instructor. If you are wishing to paint another subject, you must bring your own enlarged 8x10 photo. This class is for water-based oils only and you will not be able to begin this class without your supplies.
